I've always admired the cartoonish avatars that people are using on Twitter. I tried for hours to do it myself using Paint Shop Pro, but to no avail. Luckily this morning I found just what I was looking for. It's called be funky. You can easily upload your photos to the web site (it's free!) and "cartoonize" any portrait. They also have a nifty "uvatar" creator where you can create your own avatar, accessorize her, and put her in a scene. Or if you have a video to upload, you can turn it into a video cartoon, similar to the movie A Skanner Darkly. The nifty thing is that Hugh Grant decided to stop by and check out my uvatar universe. Obviously he just got back from Aruba, while I still have my pasty white Oregonian complexion.Here are the cartoonized versions of myself and my family. Be warned: it's highly addicting!

Oh dear. This will be a bigger time waster for me than Twitter. I tried it once, now I want to load all kinds of picture up there. Pierre the Puppy should be a cartoon, don't you think?
Yes, he definitely needs his own cartoon interpretation. Hey, why don't we create a "second life" type of virtual world for dogs? Hmmmmm...

Oh how fun! I've seen websites like this where you can make yourself a South Park character or an M+M, but this is more up my ally. Thanks for sharing.
